Senior Teacher - Chioni Demler
Coming from a ballet background, asana was the first aspect of yoga I was drawn to but over the years meditation, relaxation and pranayama have become the cornerstones of my practice.
My first yoga class at Greenwood Yoga Academy was with Margaret in 1999 but I didn’t stay long as I relocated to London.
It wasn’t until I returned to Perth in 2007 (and GYA) that I really found my yogic home. When yoga became a daily passion of mine I was inspired by Margaret to study for an Advanced Diploma in Holistic Classical Yoga at GYA and have been teaching since 2011.
I’m continuously inspired by the wonderful teachers (and students) I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and learning from. When I’m not practicing on my mat I love running, all things music and spending time with my partner, our furry child Scooby, my gorgeous little nephew and family and friends.
Chioni teaches a radiant style of class that creatively and gently weaves the philosophy of Yoga throughout the entire class. With influences from a classical background and a special interest in mental health Chioni brings the radiance of the inner body to the outer body.
Chioni teaches on Thursdays from 9.30am to 11.00am.
